The Production and Management Department was established in 1994, in the framework of the reform and restructuring of the Polytechnic University. The units on which the Department was conceived were the former Department of Technology and Manufacturing and partly that of Graphic Engineering Design, while after 1999 the Department of Metallurgy was included in it.

The staff of this department has the highest level of qualification with 18 effective lecturers out of which 1 Professor, 3 Associate Professors, 12 Lecturers, 2 Assistant Lecturer (Master of Science) and 2 academic technical staff.

The scientific teaching groups of the Production and Management Department are:
Manufacturing Technology Teaching Group
Graphics Engineering teaching Group
Materials Science Teaching Group
Industrial Management and Economic Engineering Teaching Group

The didactic activity offered by this department extends for the most part in the field of teaching, in directed works, seminars and practical laboratory work, which complement the teaching process framework at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and other faculties of the Polytechnic University of Tirana. The department conducts its didactic activity in several main didactic-scientific research fields closely related to each other such as:

Production processes, integration, computerization and industrial robotics

Materials technology and science

Total quality and production management

Economy, organization and management of the enterprise

Engineering Graphics and Industrial Drawing

Economic engineering

and contributes for study programs:

Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering;

Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Production Management and Industrial Management;

Bachelor, Professional Master, Scientific Master in Materials Engineering;

Bachelor, Scientific Master in Economic Engineering;
