Economic Engineering Alumni Day brings together generations of students and professionals at UPT

“From University to Professional Success – The Journey of Economic Engineers”

On May 28, 2026, at the premises of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Polytechnic University of Tirana, the activity "Economic Engineering Alumni Day" was held, with the theme "From University to Professional Success - The Journey of Economic Engineers" .

The event brought together around 100 participants, including Alumni of the Economic Engineering study program, current students, academic staff of the Department of Production Management, as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Prof. Dr. Genti Guxho. The event aimed to strengthen ties between the university and graduates, exchange professional experiences and create a platform for cooperation between different generations of economic engineers.

One of the most important indicators of the success of the Economic Engineering study program is the high integration of graduates into the labor market. During the event, it was emphasized that Economic Engineering Alumni are employed in public and private institutions, as well as in national and international companies operating in various sectors of the economy.

Graduates of the program contribute as project managers, specialists in economic planning and analysis, finance and accounting experts, business consultants, marketing specialists, operations managers, as well as entrepreneurs who have created their own businesses. They are part of the manufacturing industry, the banking and financial sector, telecommunications, energy, information technology, construction, logistics, tourism, and public administration.

The presence of Alumni in leadership and decision-making positions in important companies inside and outside Albania proves the quality of the academic training offered by the Economic Engineering study program and its ability to adapt to the changing demands of the labor market.

The event opened with a retrospective video that brought moments from the history of the study program, the auditoriums, the laboratories, the graduation ceremonies and the professional journey of many Alumni. The welcoming remarks emphasized the importance of the Alumni community as a bridge between the university and the job market, as well as their contribution to the further development of the program.

One of the most special moments of the day was the session "Alumni Stories - Turning Points" , where former students shared with the audience their success stories, challenges encountered during their careers, decisive moments that have influenced their professional journey, and the most valuable lessons learned over the years.

Next, participants engaged in a “Career Myth” discussion , where some of the most common myths related to professional success, the job market, and career development were analyzed and challenged. The discussions demonstrated that flexibility, continuous learning, and the ability to adapt to change are key factors for success in an increasingly dynamic environment.

The students' interest was particularly reflected in the "Ask Me Anything - Alumni Edition" session , where they had the opportunity to address direct questions on employment opportunities, interviews, professional internships, skills development, the impact of Artificial Intelligence on the professions of the future, and real challenges of the labor market.

An inspiring atmosphere accompanied the “What I Wish I Knew at 20” session , where each Alumni shared a short motivational message for current students. Their advice focused on the importance of dedication, professional networking, the courage to try new opportunities, and continuous investment in personal and professional development.

An important institutional moment of the activity was the election of the Economic Engineering Alumni Board, its chairman and the coordinating lecturer. This step marks the beginning of an organized structure of cooperation, which will contribute to strengthening the relations between Alumni, students and the university, as well as to the organization of future professional and academic activities.

The event concluded with an informal networking session, a group photo and the presentation of new initiatives for the development of the Alumni community, including expanding the professional network on LinkedIn and creating new opportunities for mentoring, collaboration and support for current students. The Alumni Day once again confirmed the value of the Economic Engineering community and its role in building sustainable bridges between university education and professional success.
